My Town

My town is cute and clever and refined in ways that only a determined dedication to simplicity allows. A place with relatively few tourists that plays host to a collection of some of Japans oldest and most impressive temples and shrines. A thriving seaside port town filled with centuries old Machiya townhouses, almost none of which are in disrepair. A rural town teeming with young families and children, terraced rice fields, verdant mountain valleys, monkeys, deer, bear, and a historical legacy that rivals just about any other destination in Japan. An absolute photographers paradise for just about any genre; street, architecture, nature, landscape, culture, and even geisha. What you wont find here are any ‘No Entry’ or ‘No Photo’ signs or any of that Kyoto style ‘just drop your money and leave’ hospitality. Quite the opposite in fact, people in my town are genuinely friendly and welcoming. They are eager to know where you came from and interested in learning your story. Great food, great people, great architecture, and the very BEST bakery in all of Japan… you’ll find it all here in Obama. If you’d like to read more about my town please check out my new blog, HERE
